Advice on LaneHost billing trap - from an one year customer
I have a Reseller Hosting Plan with Lanehost.
The plan is ReHost Mini, which cost $11.21USD/month (after coupon discount)
I found this lanehost from Webhostingtalk, if you do a search on this forum, you can find many positive reviews, and YES they were very good until sometime between April and June this year, lanehost kept on down. You can also find active discussion on Webhostingtalk

Because sites hosted on Lanehost were not critical, so we decided to give lanehost some patience, we hoped this company can stand the problems, and improve. And the same time the manager Derrick offered one month free service.
So far so good
Then Derrick sent us an email:
"We recently acquired new faster and most importantly more redundant servers, because you are a valued customer we would like to upgrade your account to one of these servers. These new servers uses now Quad Processor Quad Core chips, loaded with 16 GB of RAM, uses now 6 hard disks RAID-10 array’s, and more."
They moved us to their new servers, it’s really not what we want, because there are still problems. Plus we reviewed our billing records, and found: they placed a few other $11.21 charges, EVEN with 3 such charges in ONE month.
We contacted lanehost, and want to suspend this service with them.
NOW, the headache begins, this is where i need your advice:
Derrick through an email in:
"Yes, you are paying monthly. However, you are paid up through to 02/05/2009. Which is you very last day of service with us that is paid for.
I understand your frustration, we are retiring all of our old servers and I would be more then happy to move your account right now to one of our newer servers.
The new servers are one of the fastest servers you can get right now, LaneHost was actually one of the first web hosting companies to receive the new AMD Quad Processo…"
===========
We signed up monthly plan, now they won’t allow us to cancel, what shall we do?
Shall we go through the credit card company, or is there another Channel we can file complaint? Your advice is highly appreciated.
