Wordpress Administration Panel

The Administration Panels provide you, the admin, with access to the control features of your WordPress engine. The top portion of all Panels features three sections: The first section, in dark shading, shows links to the Dashboard, your profile (shown as your current user name), log out, help, and the forums. A second section shows the name of your blog, and a link to your blog’s main page called “Visit Site”. A third section contains the menu tabs (and sub-tabs) for each of the administrative functions you can perform.

At the bottom of each Administration Panel are links to Wordpress, Documentation, and Feedback . Also, the version of WordPress you have installed is shown. Just below the menu tab section, if your version is NOT the latest version, you will see the message A new version of WordPress is available! Please upgrade now. Click on the provided link to download the latest version from the official Wordpress website.

Take an hour or two exploring the different features of the administration panel. Try as many functions as you can, such as creating a new post, changing your profile information, and playing around with the settings. The Wordpress developers have made the administration panel as easy to operate as possible, so don’t worry if it is too much to take in at first, you will get the hang of it later on.
